Actually, no I'm not. If you go back and re-read m post I stated that SW wasn't the only company not to lay off any employees. In other words, I agree with you that SW didn't lay anyone off. Where I disagree with you is your statement that they were the only one. JetBlue didn't lay anyone off either.

Scot, just go to Jetblue.com and find out.....

I like SWA's fare prices. They are great when you are on a budget and you just want to get somewhere. They pride themselves on friendly employees and are very forgiving on passenger reservation mistakes. They also do not charge you rip off fees (a la american airipofflines). It is a little of a headache puddle jumping on long trips, but they more than make up for it. As a frequent flyer member I got a free ticket after only $280.00 worth of plane tickets! The money I saved using the ticket was over $600.00. I'd say that was a friggin good deal.

IMHO Southwest is like Honda in the sense that they are riding an orginally well-earned reputation long after it was deserved. Judging from the comments (with which I agree) time is about up.

Southwest has gotten far more expensive, IMO. I used to be able to get a one way from Austin to Chicago for +/-$100 if I booked it 3 weeks in advance, and right now, 3 weeks in advance, that same one way is $293!!! Delta is offering a one way ticket, the same day, with one less stop for $208.

It's amzing what competition does. Now when you have no competition and you pay $708 to fly form Phila. to Hartford and back. Now that's crazy, ~220mi.
