X band radar in your neck of the woods. . .
Hmm. I sounds like that I might be able to kill X-band for local driving, after another six months or so and bit more due diligence to look into use of X around here. I'd have to re-enable it, though, for any travels outside my area.
I donno what part of texas you aer in... but on my usually weekly drive up to dallas, I still get them. Not only do little towns use it, but the State Troopers believe it or not still have cars out there with them.

Here in upstate NY and in PA, I detected cops using X band various times. A lot of people do not care for the X band since it is old but smart cops still use it. They want to get you when your guard is off.
I've had X-band disabled on both my detectors (a V1 and Passport 7500) for the last couple of years w/ no tix or warnings. My detectors are much quieter now, and I'm more likely to act immediately on alarms rather than question whether or not it's a falsie.
I don't think they even make X-band radar guns anymore.
