I can't remember a new console launch where the supplies lasted, I don't really know why this always happens, but I hope XBox will be abundantly available. The problem with the other launches was probably that they try to put them on the market like 2 weeks after starting the manufacturing process. If XBox must be delayed in order to put more out then that's no problem with me. Gates rules all! (no offense Sunchild )

Better specs doesn't always mean better games. Look at PSX and N64. Play Station won the war even though the specs were behind N64.

Sony had the software backing and the non-cartoon approach. Nintendo got old with their cartoonish games.

I just figured I would bring this thread back up because Xbox is giving me a real hard on...

Could this be the first console with a flight sim that someone actually plays? They now have a few movies and tons of screenshots up at Xbox.com and I'm drooling. They are also coming out with things like a steering wheel that doesn't have to mount!!!! Yea you just hold it and turn . We'll see how that works, but it looks cool as hell!

I'm not going to bother buying a PS2 because it only supports 480i output (standard NTSC video). 480i looks pretty bad on my gaming screen - 480p is a minimum, and 720p and 1080i look spectacular. It's not just a matter of the HD consoles (x-box and gamecube) looking better, it's the fact that at 100-120" (my screen size) standard 480i output just looks soooo bad it's hard to watch.

I was feeling pretty cool about getting my 55" HD monitor on Saturday until I just read this thread.

"it's the fact that at 100-120" (my screen size) standard 480i output just looks soooo bad it's hard to watch"

Maybe someday I will get to enjoy a 100+" screen.

By the way, what type of projector do you have drogers?

I have been using my PS2 on a 60" Mitsubishi screen for almost a year now and am VERY happy. I Recently brought PS2 to a friends home and played on a 27" ... I thought it was horrible ... could barely see the action the screen was SOOOO small.

BTW If anyone wants to purchase an XBOX I have one for sale.

X-Box bundle from Toys "R" Us purchased on November 15th.

I will include receipt with sale.

Included in bundle are :
X-Box System w/ One Controller
2nd Controller
Project Gotham Racing
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2x
Oddworld: Munch Oddysee
X-Box Deluxe Carrying Case

I paid $564.13, before I sell it on e-bay next week I would like to offer the system for sale on this forum if anyone is interested.

At this point ( This week Nov 26th - Dec 2nd ) I would take $146 over what I pad ( $700 ) plus shipping charges. I can accept paypal or billpoint for payment.
I am expecting that the prices will increase significantly as we get closer to the Holiday. Last year when I bought the PS2 the prices skyrocketed to over $800 for just the console a few weeks before X-mas.
