I am thinking about getting one or the other, but I can't decided which is best. Most of the games I would be interested in are racing, rally racing, etc. What is the best value?

Also, I am setting up a poll to see how many of you own the PS2 or Xbox for kicks

 

I own both. They both have great titles for racing.
PS2: Has Gran Turismo 3 and soon Gran Turismo 4. Both are more realistic driving. GT 3 has a rally mode. I am sure that GT 4 will also.

Xbox has Project Gothem Racing, and Project Gothem Racing 2. Both TIGHT games! PGR2 is on Xbox live, so you can race anyone at any time. These games are a bit more arcade style driving.

Most games now a days are being made for both systems. What other type of games do you like? That would help to point out which you would like more.

 

If you want racing games then just the anticipation of GT4 should make you wanna go purchase a PS2. I own both, which is a total waste since i never play em, cept for madden or gt3 now and then. But IMO PS2 is better for racing games.

 

I am not into strategy games at all. Action, but not complicted. I never really played a gaming machine before.

 

Its a tough choice, but I think you will be happy with the PS2. Just make sure you pick up GT 3.

I like ps2 for racing with GT4 coming up i'd recommend it

xbox... its fun but judging by what you said wanting racing games and all i wouldn't recommend it

 

I bought a PS2 because of GT3 and the anticipation of GT4.

 

I bought the PS2 / GT3 "racing pack" nearly two years ago and I still play it hours every week. Other games come and go. I also own an XBox and a bunch of games for it but I keep going back to GT3.

GT4 is going to be amazing. But if you want online racing right now you might be interested in Sega GT Online for XBox. I hear it's pretty good stuff.
