Another owner of both here. For solo play the PS2 is probably the best bet. But XBox Live (playing PGR2) is serious fun with other people.

 

Project Gotham 2 online is awesome. Playing against the game gets boring for me. You can play against up to 7 other people at once on xbox and talk to them at the same time.

 

I decided to go with the ps2. It is one of those things it is hard to know unless you are a game guru. I have GT 3, and that pretty much is hard enough for me

X-Box ... racing against a bunch of other people on X-Box Live is WAY more fun than playing against simulated drivers.

i have both, so hondagal, i think you need to put up that option.

Xbox because Halo was just too awesome and some of the 1st person games tend to be better on xbox.

PS2, the driving games.

I had an Xbox for a month with only one game (PGR2). I got hooked so bad I was playing 8-10 hours/day... so i took it back!

xbox has the BEST controllers. Easy to "modify" also. Its handy to run games off the hard drive, and games load up much faster also...

 

Absolutely! That's what I said ... or used to say. I finally broke down and bought an XBox also, but I waited until I could get it cheap. It really is a good system.

I agree with this too - it's what I've always said. PS2 is an amazing console for single player games. But the XBox and GameCube are great for 'party games' and most multiplayer games. Simply because of the four controllers option. Also, XBox Live is a good networking system and the game developers are actually using it quite well.
