Is it October yet??? I didn't think so. Therefore, the Yankees don't have to play real baseball yet. C'mon Honda_S2k, do you really think the BoSox will catch the Yankees. You make me laugh.
The Yankees play as hard as they have to in order to make it to the playoffs and then the real games begin. Right now, the Red Sox just aren't doing enough to challenge the Yankees into playing better. Alas, and you will have Pedro back, hey one win in every 5 games you play, ok, you can have him. You still won't catch us.
Sorry! I had to get that off of my chest!
I feel much better now.
Not sure I can agree with you about the Yanks (even though I'm a die-hard Halo's fan and would love to see someone else take the title) but I sure hear you on the Braves.
I hate Atlanta. Always have, always will. Now that I'm marrying a girl from Queens (life long Mets fan) I have even greater incentive to hate the stupid Braves.

"Bucky Dent", "Bill Buckner", "1918", "Curse of the Bambino", etc, etc... Heard them all!
The fact is, considering how many of the Red Sox starters have been on the DL this season, the "almighty" Yankees should be 13 games ahead in the loss column instead of just 3. The Red Sox may very well not make it into October this year but anything can happen in baseball.
If the season ended with today's standings, the Yankees would easily be swept by the Oakland A's. The dynasty is in rapid decline.
