I had a cop ask me once "do you know how fast you were going?"
I told him, "not exactly, officer and I was kind of hoping that you didn't either."
He laughed and told me "unfortunately for you, I know exactly how fast you were going but at least you made me laugh."
He gave me a written warning and let me go.

Of course with my luck, I would get the cop whose in the same mood as the last TSA agent I tried to crack a joke with... oops. I got patted down for that one.
