Default You MUST Change Religions - Your .02

I know this sounds crazy. Recently we had some discussions on religious subjects. It's obvious that people believe what they believe and aren't going to change. Here's your chance to step way out on a limb. Do something that may even be beyond your nature. It will be hard. I'm asking you to pick another religion!

Not for a lifetime. Not even for real. But, let's pretend you have to pick a religion and you can't pick your present one. And even harder than that - you can't pick a Presbyterian of you are a Baptist. For this thread, we'll put all Christian fragments together. It's Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Atheist, Agnostic, Moslem, Animism, etc. There are many others to choose from.

So, for the brave and open minded: state your present religion, your new choice, and why you made it.

I'll go first. I'm a Christian. If I MUST pick another religion, I would be an Agnostic. I'm already a skeptic. I ask questions. I've studied the major religions. I have too many questions about each of them. I'd be open. I'd read their Book. I'd expect to hear from their God if I were to follow Him/Her. He'd/She'd not have to do a world-wide miracle, but I would want Him/Her to reveal Him/Herself to me.

As this thread develops (and if it does) I'm sure I will have more thoughts. And by the way, I didn't resign my membership from my church and don't plan to.

Being agnostic does not denote a religion.

Being agnostic is (as I am) is not really a religion - it's choosing by not making a choice. If I had to switch it would be to atheism.

On an interesting side note, who believes (as I do) that atheism is a religion? Have you noticed that many atheists exhibit the same sort of blind following and closed-mindedness that are typically their main criticisms of fundamentalist christians?

Currently I'm somewhere between Agnostic and Pedestrian. I that believe the cosmos had a beginning and was probably caused by devine decree, but since the time of creation, I don't see much evidence of divine intervention. Random genetic interactions and climatological influences have brought us to be the creatures that we are. The limited understanding of the human mind has lead religeous fanatics to wage war against those who don't agree with them or whom are of a different race. What I do see is tons of human struggle to make sense of the human place in the cosmos and why.

I guess the opposite of where I am is......to follow someone who has a totally ignorant understanding of the creation, who denies the existance of scientific evidence, who believes in the inerrancy of the Bible, and has no place in heaven for those who don't give money to his church. Someone like......
