You MUST Change Religions - Your .02

To return to topic, I'd go along with Gary. (This is beginning to sound like a cop-out.) As a mathematician I'm skeptical by nature and by education, but I know that lack of proof of God's existence isn't proof of his non-existence.
So I decided to be a Christian.
First, I was hypocritical. I did lots of things the Bible specifically said not to do. Then after I did them, I ignored the parts about the consequences -- because they were just too harsh.
Second, I was evangelical. I went and helped a group of zealots make big signs to put on the sign of the road, telling drivers that God wanted them.
Third, I completely ignored God all week, until Sunday. On Sunday, I wore my normal clothes, got to church a little late, and dozed off during the sermon. That evening I had an argument with a scientist friend about how he could possibly be ethical without God in his life. Then I went to bed, but forgot to pray again. Oh, well, maybe tomorrow night.

Listen guys, let's just make it simple:
A religion is a belief system concerning the presence, absence, possibility, nature, and behavior of a deity. Atheism and agnosticism are religions. Let's not get so scared of the word "religion" that we can't have a discussion about belief systems without nitpicking definitions. We have to give a name to the whole class of things one can believe about a deity, so we can talk about them -- the name is "religion."
