Sigh ,

It started out as a beautiful day here in central Ohio..........cold (28 degrees) but sunny, dry and roads clean. So, following my son's ball game, we grabbed lunch and headed to the Honda dealership where my S is to be delivered next month. They had told me previously to stop by a month in advance to have my trade in appraised............so I obliged. Well, the mandatory paperwork went well, and we were about to leave, when my saleswoman says, "well, do you want to take her out for another drive, I think it is past the 600mi mark, so you don't have to worry about the rpm's anymore" Two seconds later my son and I are sitting in the '01 red/black S2000 and head for the open road.................

Damn 582 miles , no VTEC yet............

We head out, making short work of a couple mustangs along the way
Encounter another S, an uncommen site around here, and play with him awhile.

Down the road we go smiling all the way. Get off and drop the top Head back toward the dealership again and miss the exit while goofing off with another mustang..............

Somewhere in there my son asked......"shouldn't we get this car back?"

Well, I am trying, I say, but now we are a bit lost ...................

so, finally back at the dealer, who prompltly grabs the keys from me, my wife explains that we have been gone 45 min and another customer had been waiting for the car to drive, as well as their salesman.

What could I do??? I completely lost track of time. We never did hit VTEC, but had a blast just tooling around.................I don't know if my saleswoman is going to speak to me again, but IT WAS WORTH IT!!!!!..............I am sorry though

Pissing off a dealer has never been high on my worry list, anyway.

 

Hang on! You started with 582M's (which IMHO is close enough to 600), drove for 45 minutes, and never hit VTEC? I'd ask for another drive !

 

LOL, when I test drove the S2000 at Maroone Honda, I abused the hell out of it with the sales guy in the car. In hindsight, I feel bad for whoever brought it afterwards. So for any of you that might own a 2001 Black S2000 purchased from Maroone Honda last summer, I'm sorry!
