i think you were being nice. I had the exact same situation a few weeks back, except I was with my fiance. We get our drinks, and look around. Only one two top was available. As we were walking towards it, these two guys came in, dropped their bags in the chairs, and went to stand on line....a nice solid 20 minute line. I came up to the table, tossed their bags 12 feet towards the door, and sat down. One of them sees me, and runs over with the WTF speech. I told him that someone needs to teach him some manners, so it might as well be me. I told him to go pick up his bags, and leave me alone, or else he will be the next thing I throw. He calmly walked away. I hate these assholes.

both stories described were well played and I don't think you were being rude. screw saving spots with other than a warm body. I have deffinitly done the exact same as second story and will do it every time.
