You think me rude? Starbucks...
So, we are in Greenville, NC this morning...wife is visiting her doctor and I decide to pass the time in a local Starbucks... I order, get my coffee and see that all the tables are occupied...except one that has two bags in a chair...
So, it's this little table with just 2 chairs and on one of the chairs lies 2 bags.
I sit in the other chair but I am sure not to "set camp" and pull out the laptop, etc. I just sit, sipping my latte and checking my BlackBerry.
About 3~4 minutes pass.
The man arrives to the table with an orange juice and gives me a nasty look as he grabs his bags and walks back to the line.

Guess he felt he staked his claim. He owned the table.
???
There are NO other tables (or seats) available.
Anyways...now he's just standing around and looks pissed. He could easily share the table space with me...but he's a jerk off.

Yes, me thinks you rude, but hopefully you're just ignorant
You should have waited for him to return, sitting or standing, and then asked if he was just setting his stuff down or holding the table--obviously he was doing the latter as it was fairly crowded Starbucks. After that, you could have asked if you could share the table with him.
In his eyes, you are just an inconsiderate jerk taking his spot. And be honest, if you're talking about those small, round tables at Starbucks, you plus a laptop is not leaving much area for sharing.
