I just heard the weather report...you may know that I live on the Chicago lakefront. The lake does an interesting thing. When it is very cold out and the lake is essentially frozen, the ice acts as an insulator and it will be warmer on the lakefront than it is inland. And when it's warmer inland during the non-winter months, it will be cooler here because of the cooler (relative) temperature of the water. So the lake acts as an insulator in both conditions...I was fascinated by that fact, actually.

HOWEVER! I just heard the weather report...with the wind chill it's MINUS 50 degrees right now with a temperature of 1 degree on the lakefront. This is quite possibly the coldest I have seen it in my four years here.

In the words of a local cab driver, "dis is bullsheet!!"

So now that frostbite is a threat, I'm staying in...and right here, posting away!

Frost bite? Try being stuck indoors with Chicken pox. Just found out an hour ago what these little red things were. I thought I was just having an allergic reaction to something. Oh well let's break out the booze.
