Your wisdom teeth removal experiences

They are fully developed but they do not come out of the gums, as they are pushing up against the molars. They have to make incisions in my gums to get them out, which is why I am going under anesthesia and not just novocain. I'm headed out now, thanks for the help.
I had mine removed about 7 mths ago now. The last thing I remember is talking to the doctor about my S2000, then I woke up in my chair at my house. Apparently according to my wife I woke up and was saying E.T. go home (i've never even seen the movie so I have no idea where that came from) I was also doing Borat sayings such as King of the Castle King of the Castle go do this go do this. Wa wa we wa things like that and then when I was walking out of the office there was a child approx age 10-12 sitting with his mother I looked at him and laughed and then did the Jim Carrey walk that he did in the Mask. I wish I had a video oh well... The meds were great though.

I'm home and I'm up and about. The bleeding stopped about an hour after I got home (when I came home it was actually quite painful) but the ibuprofen and codeine they gave me are doing a great job of stopping the pain as of now. Eating hasn't been a problem, swallowing is the tough part. I've already had 1.5 cups of oatmeal, 2 smoothies, a milkshake, and lots of ginger ale. Swelling isn't an issue yet, as he gave me a harness thing to wrap around my head to put ice packs in. I'm pretty tired, so I hope I'll be able to sleep most of tomorrow.
Mine wasn't bad... 2 impacted, 2 not. They adviced me to have the surgery done while completely under which I opted for although local anesthetic was possible to. Counted back wards from 10 and I was out by 4 from w/e it was. Next thing I know they're waking me up. Popped right up, was out of the office in 5 minutes, walked to the car. No drowsiness at all, but my mom drove me home as was required. Drove to work 30 minutes later. They gave me I think 10 vicodin, used them the first day and the rest I used a week later with a couple 6 packs and a few buddies.
You won't be eating normal for awhile. First day or two is mostly liquid diet, soups and the such. After that you start eating gradually more normal. It took me like 2 weeks before I'd eat chips although that was largely mental. Around day 5 I was eating a Mexican restaurant and a piece of chip got lodged in the whole in my gums. That was rather unpleasant. Rice gets stuck there for like a month to which is annoying.
Haha, yah and the straw advice is good. It seemed like a good idea at the time (keep soda from getting in the gums), it was a horrible mistake.

It's really not as bad as I had thought, I've taken the first dose of drugs, and then didn't take another until I went to bed. I'm assuming it had worn off by now, but I'm still not in any pain. I actually have found a good way to drink through a straw which has helped a lot. I clamp the straw with my tongue up against the roof of my mouth as far back in my throat as I can. This way I can keep my mouth open while drinking and whatever fluid I'm drinking will go directly down my throat with no negative effects. Oatmeal, eggs, an orange smoothie, and moderately buttered toast (to soften it up) really isn't that bad of a breakfast.
warm salt water gargle really helps.
I had all 4 removed at once since they were all impacted.
It wasn't too bad, the day of the procedure hurt the worst for me. The rest of the time I was in a drug-induced haze so it was fine.
