Random side note....how many people involved in this suit do you think will continue to eat at KFC, no matter the outcome?

I say at least 50%

People need to stop taking such a laissez-faire attitude towards this epidemic of "fatness". Like it or not these "fatties" are going to make quite a dent in YOUR pocketbook. Healthcare costs are on the rise, any idea why? One MAJOR reason is the fattening of America. A leading contributor? FAST FOOD.

But there's a catch, take a look at McDonalds in Denmark and compare their offerings to our versions here. You'll note their fastfood is MUCH healthier due to a)"normal" size portions b)limited to no use of TFAs. Denmark has made it a law to limit/ban the use of TFAs in food prep. Result is MUCH healthier products in fast food establishments.

I'm all for the banning of TFAs. These mega companies are dumping their crap on us while reaping great rewards. They are negatively affecting the health of the general populace and doing NOTHING to combat the unhealthy trend of Americans all for the mighty dollar.

Best post in the thread.

People need to stop blaming others for their problems. God damn liberals are targeting chicken now.

Its a free society. If I want to sell deep fried butter, and your fat a$$ buys it, its your problem, not mine.

Case in point - warning labels on the side of a cigarette pack. as long as the consumer know about that, he/she can smoke to the heart's content.
we can bring up other examples galore.

the same with KFC. Trans fat is really bad for your arteries. The least KFC should do is to inform the consumers that their products contain trans fat - full disclosure.
this information is lacking to the average consumer.

How would we feel if cars dont have mandatory seatbelt but we have the choice to install them?
There is a certain amount of standard of consumer protection. I feel that KFC should at least inform the consumer of the use of trans fat.
This is what the suit is about - the "advocacy group" is suing for punitive damages because it doesn't like how KFC prepares food and states KFC's warnings aren't big enough. KFCs warnings are there, they're just not pasted in big red and yellow stickers on the front door of the restaurants. The info is already available to the average consumer, this group just wants to make it unavoidable, and really is simply trying to get KFC to change how it cooks food.

Take a look at KFC's site - there's pages on nutrition and what's in its food. This same info is available in the stores - its just not an idiot sticker yet. While the goal of better, healthier food is laudable, I hate groups like this that bring up frivoulous lawsuits to get their opinion enforced under the umbrella of som higher cause. KFC even serves vegetables as sides and has for years - not many fast food chains even do that.

You'll always find your dissenters who voice a counter-opinion just to step into the limelight. So far the studies are not wrong. Obesity has been linked to several ailments such as cancer, diabetes, heart failure. BTW, I tend to take information from what I feel are more reliable resources such as the NIH, Science, etc.
