I have the same wheel about to go on...how hard is it going to be to fit with a 255/40

It's definitely more work than the 245 but is completely doable. You will need to be rolled flat with a slight to moderate pull depending on how much static camber you run and what specific tire you run (For example the tread width of a 255 ZII is almost an inch wider than a 255 NT05).
