Hmm, that's what I thought. 255/40 shouldn't be a ridiculous stretch on a 10" wheel either. I'll stick with that.

i had a 255/40 re01r on a 9.5


and to keep this post thread-related

 

265/40 on a 10 inch wheel. slightly stretch than a 255 on a 9 inch wheel. the 255 on my 9 inch wheel is actually taller than the 265 on the 10's. i'm going 275 on my next set up.

Your rears are what made me question that after seeing a pic lol. Your rears are 17X10 +45, right? Any close up shots of your rear tire? How hard was it to fit? Do you think it would be tough with stock fenders that are rolled?

 

No. I guess the only 17" tire that is wider than a 255 but about the same height, is a 295/35.
