Official New Formula Red S2 thread
#4523
I am wondering if any other fellow new formula red owners can help me out here, i have just had a lot of paint work done to my car, pretty much all of it except rear bumper and boot lid, unfortunately the colour the car has come back is not what it should me imo, the door shuts look nowhere near the same colour the car is now neither does the rear bumper, i have parked my car next to another new formula red car for comparison.
I have googled this and found that new formula red has a coloured base, and also a coloured clear coat, i have contacted several uk paint companies and all of them are coming back saying that the paint they would supply is a coloured base only, my car currently looks a faded shade of red that the car should be, and if anything pink. So you guys that have had paintwork done, do you know if they used a coloured clear coat, or clear?
Another question is, is this because the original paint darkens over time, most red lighten?
Have my body shop just messed up the colour and are trying to fob me off? they are refusing to repaint the car in the correct colour.
has anyone had their NFR car repainted and experienced anything similar? picture bellow, original nfr on the left, my car on the right, my door shuts, wing mirrors rear bumper and boot lid seem to match the car on the left?
