Looked at all 6 pages and there wasn't much posted about the effectiveness of the side diffusers or what they do exactly. I'm a bit hesitant to put anything on the car that doesn't improve handling or performance. Can some one chime in on their usefulness?

The truth: side diffusers don't help a thing. they are just good for looks.

I can see how full body under diffusers MAY help if you're going over a gazillion miles per hour (of course any small help it might do just ends up compensating for the add on in weight anyway) but side diffusers definitely don't matter. just think about it scientifically: what is a little piece sticking out 2 inches parallel at no angle from the side going to do with the noticeable function of the car? Nothing significant. Wind will pass through it just like it would pass through the railing underneath- it's not like it's going to deflect anywhere- at least not enough to matter.

People like to say they matter to feel better about the amount of money they spend for little CF pieces that look good, but i prefer to just admit they look cool

Was angling over a severe tire damage spike strip leaving a parking lot and one of the spikes caught onto my diffuser and owned it.

That sucks! Look on the bright side, it's still a nice looking diffuser painted.

^ i thought those were chaser...
why are you not impressed with the others? you like that yours flare at the end or something?? JW
chaser are shine replica's. only diff is in price.

yes, i think the flare is nice, the "step-down" before the actual lip is also nicer, and the shape is nicer. it adds a little curve to he bottom of the 2000. oh, and they poke out a little from the body toward the tires. ties the lines together nicely.

the chili-coke are ok. nothing special and he doesnt respond to jack shit, so count them out. the home-made ones look....well....... home-made. so they are out. the only other competitors are the downforce ones, and they just look like flat, thin, little side steps. and you can barely notice them most of the time.

that is my opinion on them. i searched high and low at the different possibilities before i bought mine and they have treated me well.

to each their own. i am definitely partial to mine. :-)

What modification did you do to your sides to get them to fit just right? Mine are coming in Wednesday.
