Hoping I can have the garage space cleaned up this weekend so I can finally make space for the smurf!
Too bad the lights won't be in so either I can't totally winterize the car (don't want to install lights while the car is sitting in the garage), or, I'll have to wait on the lights till the spring.

Kinda long story
Took the chumpcar to American Endurance Racing at Mid Ohio.
Friday: They do open track, any car from morning till lunch. Gives every one a chance to learn track (which we didn't need). But is a great idea and format. Really liked this. Also, got to drive my partner's e46 M3. Took a few laps to get used to it, but was really able to get a rhythm, and I'm sure was faster than my s2000 times, even on his worn out street tires. Surprising for a heavy car. Friday afternoon is qualifying, and my other partner qualified us 2nd in class. Things look good.
Saturday: Rain start, but our fast driver in car for 2 hours, and he got us to 6th overall (behind 2 pro team Caymans, couple M3's, mustang Gt) and 1st in class. Partner 2 then into car. About 45 min into stint, he moves over for fast traffic (oddly an M3 and said mustang). M3 goes thru fine, mustang locks it up into corner and clobbers our car, directly into pass rear wheel. Not much body damage, but the E30 is odd. No alignment adjustment on those cars. The hit bends either the sub frame or control arm. Result is 1.25" of toe out. We brought car in, whole rear out in 30 min, but we really never fix it (you should see the crazy things we tried). I took it back out, it turned left well, fought against right, and was generally always unstable in the rear. Really shaky under lift throttle. We finish next to last in class (we were parked for 4 hours of 8 hour race. I did run OK times and pass people, so we had some hope.
Saturday night, we tried to further bend back the toe out. Wrapped ratchet strap around sub frame, and other end around a telephone pole. Push car till strap snaps against frame, in attempt to bend back (seriously, we did this!). It looked like we removed another 3/8" of the toe out.
Sunday: fast partner takes car out. It's totally messed up, worse than Saturday afternoon. Undriveable. We park it so we don't wreck it. We think we must have bent the other side of sub frame.
Grand total, we only get to race about 5 hours of 17 for the weekend.
All this after we spent 2 weeks of late nights getting the car ready from the wreck during the last race. Which is a longer story.
Just a disappointing season with that car
