Default Anyone know this S2k?

Greetings S2KI,
I am looking at purchasing an S2000 and came across this S2000 outside Columbus.
http://www.dennydotson.com/2005-Hond...3/Details.aspx

I see it has an intake and hood struts which I don't mind (stock would be better) but my main concern is it had many more mods and has been returned to mostly stock. Just curious if anyone knows this car from its former owner(s).

Thanks!

Also, is an area Honda dealer the best place to have a PPI completed?

Stunning car! I've no concerns about the hood struts (easy to remove if they offend you) and the K&N FIPK is a near mandatory option for these cars. Worth it for the induction noise alone. At least the car hasn't been buggered with aftermarket wheels or some strange radio.

You're saying the car had lots of mods and was returned to stock or wondering if this is the case? Seems priced high for an '05. But not by much.

New tires? What tires? Performance cars demand performance tires. All season radials don't let the car drive close to it's potential.

I didn't see any good photos of the roof's "shoulders." Honda left some sharp points on the roof frame that wears holes there especially over the passenger outboard shoulder. Spotted the wear on mine before it became a tear.

I bought mine in July '14 from Germain Honda in Worthington. Don't know about their PPI services but mine was super detailed and on the showroom floor when I bought it.

Sorry, my post may not have been clear. I don't think or know that it was highly modified, but the fact it had any mods threw a flag for me that it could have been and was de-moded.

I'll ask about the tires.

Is there a good angle to view the roof "shoulders"?

Thanks!

Common point for a tear. Actually this is cut by the roof frame from the inside. Mine had a scratch on the inside that I glued a couple pieces of fabric over to prevent further wear -- and tear.

Accident (doesn't appear to be a severe one) in 08 for what it's worth. Never trust a Carfax. Dealers use them for a reason.

No accident shows in the Carfax. Where does show up? (Curiosity, not a challenge! )

Car has been on the lot or a while. Shows in Google Earth street view in August! (Aerial photo is a year older.) Plug in 907 W Coshocton St, Johnstown, OH and drop down to street view. Right there to the left of the drive.

Unsold for several months. Price? Cornfield dealer? Autotrader website shows he has two yellow S2000s for sale. The other one is a 2001 (AP1).

Carfax "market values" appear inflated from a year ago in Central Ohio even assuming this is the asking price and the sale price will be less.

Shows it on Autocheck. Also odd, shows only 2 owners.

I wouldn't buy a gold fish from Denny Dotson; shady group. Beware ; they screwed over a potential S2000 owner on a GPW.
