Black leather interior opinions.
Question for you guys with black interiors: How hot do they really get in the heat of the summer with the top down? I had decided against black for an interior color, but now I've found a couple of cars that are pretty much perfect except for the interior color.
Is black really that bad, or am I just bein a wuss?

The first time you get in with shorts on after it has sat in the sun with the top down is a little, ahem, eye opening. The good news is that the intense burning goes away in 10-20 seconds, as your skin serves to cool the leather very quickly!!
Seriously, it isn't that bad. It is very hot for the first few seconds, but cools very quickly. I don't regret the decision. Besides, how often is the sun out in Ohio anyway.

Covercraft makes a tonneau cover for the S if youwant to keep the top down and are parking it in the sun all day. I bought one, but have yet to use it. It covers the windshield and interior of the car. Great for bird droppings too.

I think it's about discression. If you park outside in the sun all day, look to put the top up or get a cover. Regardless of color, any interior gets "warm"..especially when you are wearing shorts and not paying attention.
Oh, and about the top down in the sun. A friend of mine (obvious non-convertible driver), once told me that top down driving is great on the freeway because your car is constantly moving so it doesn't get hot. I wonder if he kept an ice pack constantly on his head.
Driving from Chagrin Falls to Rocky River one time, taught me the importance of a hat when driving on the freeway.

Thanks guys. This might be a mute point now however. I just stumbled on a BlackGrey 993 cabriolet last night that just might be the one. 30,000 miles, all records/maintenance. I've investigated several so far but from my communications with the owner so far, this smells like the one. Can't wait to bring one home and let it sit in my garage for the next few months.
At least I'll be able to sit in it and drool.
