Default Clay Bar

Going to clay bar the S. Any pointers? Do you strip your wax off with dish soap first?

Just was the car first. You do not need to take the wax off, the bar will do that. Use plenty of the lube that cames with it.

I like to start with as clean a surface as I can. It wouldn't hurt to start with dishwashing liquid and a clean car before the clay. Dawn or any dishwashing liquid will do.

I'm not familiar with the Meg's system so I can't comment on that but generally you would apply the polish before the wax. Are you using the #26 high tech yellow wax?

that's is what the bottle suggests, but I have Meguirs gold class wax. do you think it would matter? they say the gold class is their best shine.

I've always heard to wash the car first. Then, use the clay bar. Then, wash it again after the clay before you go on to polish, wax, whatever you'd like.

I've used the #26 before. Gold Class has a great shine but isn't known for lasting very long.

Like StrangeDaze says, make sure you wash very good after the claybar process.

I've seen it at Napa and Pepboys. I may have 3/4 of a bottle in the basement. Let me check.
