I can't hear the turbo on my A4 either. Kind of funny, because I could hear both on my old S4. I miss the whistle.

There are short shift options that will tighten up the hear box. Audi's are just as bad. remind me to show you my Neuspeed shifter.

Wheels? My opinion, which will be the opposite of the bling lovers, is to get a set of BBS LMs, CHs, or RGRs (if you can swing the cash). HRE is stupid moronic expensive. I am with Gary, the wheels in the last link look good, in silver. But a chump who needs a $100 bill to illustrate the size of the lip is obviously making too much money selling cheap wheels. I don't like the rivet look on most wheels though. BBS RS-GTs might be an exception.
