Default Drifting

I was wondering if anyone would be up for a drifting day. I'm thinking of a weekend when the parking lots aren't full and during a nice day of precipitation (something positive to look forward to when it snows). At least when the surface isn't dry we wouldn't be burning up our tires as much because the snow would help the tires just slide, unless I'm wrong here. I've been hanging the rear end of my S and its been fun, but I'm hesistant on doing it so much because I just replaced my tires, so maybe when it snows it would be better.

So if anyone is interested in joining or just meeting up for a day like this, lets get this thread going. It would make for a good media day, pictures and camcorders.

Where are you located? My only thoughts are ,most guys 90%, won't take their S2000's out when it's snowing;let alone a chance of getting a ticket in someones lot . Now maybe a short oval like Columbus Motorspeedway might let us rent the track for something like a Drift competition. I could check into it if we get enough guys who want to do that

When I was younger, I received a reckless operation ticket for this and it was in the winter also. We older guys call it donuts. 4 points and really pissed off my parents.

But, the JC Penny outlet lot is great when it is wet

Drifting would be fun as long as it was setup to be legally done.

I don't want to get a ticket doing it either, maybe popeyes' idea about renting out a lot. Like the Akerman lot on OSU campus where they do SCCA.

I'm not sure where to start to get the info for the renting cost or who to contact. Anyone have ideas? I'm at work still so I haven't put the full effort into locating this info yet. Just a poll here then, how many would be up for splitting the cost for a day of drifting in a slick parking lot?

soundzero: hopefully with the snow on the lot, we won't have to smoke our tires thats what I'm looking forward to. To get sideways without burning up my tires.
