Front Liscense Plate
#12
I have not had a front plate on my last three cars (over 8 years) and have not had a problem yet. I keep the plate in the trunk and have my excuse ready. If I do get a ticket, well, I know the law and I will have to pay up.

Years ago i got pulled over for no front plate. I kept it under the front floor mat and used the excuse "the car wash just tore it off." He rolled his eyes and said if i see you again without it, you'll get a ticket.
I roll with mine because most S2000 don't, and i like my personalized plates. Besides the fact that EVERYDAY while in Florida, my dad would say "you gotta get rid of that front plate......"

I just took mine off yesterday. I don't understand why Ohio requires front plates, I'm in Kentucky for a Co-op and they could care less down here. I guess if it's true that Columbus police are really strict about it I'd better put it back on when traveling back to Ohio State haha, but I doubt I'll take the time.

Keep in mind that they can indeed stop you for no front plate, any time they want to. It's probably cause for a stop when you leave a bar at night, etc.
I'm sure that before they got their charter revoked by the state, New Rome probably wrote tickets for no front plate right and left. I remember that a "fix-it" ticket for taillights anywhere else was a $25 ticket in New Rome about 20 years ago.

Well that's one reason why I moved out of Oh...or just stayed out of Medina County..lmao.
First time a certain cop pulls me over for no front plate...had the car 1 year no problems..just the cop being an ass...
Second time thinking that having the front plate on the windshield was enough...but nope..same cop another ticket. Though from all the other cops I talked to they said they don't care about the front plate..but the officer from Medina City will ticket any import for any reason because he just doesn't "kids and their modified crap"

The Ohio legislature considered removing the front plate requirement a couple of years ago, but there is no effective lobby to push the issue. And, most in the law enforcement community like having a front plate. The presence of a front plate aids in quickly identifying vehicles. I run mine ..................
