Default Head Light Replacement

Roush Honda quoted $600 to replace a headlight that is leaking water. The lense of the headlight is not broken or cracked, so it looks like a seal must have failed somewhere.

Anyone have any words of wisdom here, other than ponying up $600?

Thanks,

Gary

Pull the bumper, pull the headlight, bake it in the oven, pry it open, reseal, re-install. About $3 worth of silicone. Maybe not that easy but a few hours is all you need. Even better if you get david1 to do it.

qqd2, Do you have the amber colored diffusers in the headlights? If so and you want to change them out,I have a pair of the smoked USDM headlight diffusers and a pair of the JDM clear sidemarkers if you would like to put them in while you already have the lights apart. I plan on taking them out this weekend anyway since I'm selling the S.

You can have the smoked diffusers and the clear sidemarkers for $50
I'll even throw in a tube of Silicone

Mucho many thanks for advise on this. $600 just seemed out of the ball park. I left a message on David1's home phone, so with any luck, a couple of six packs and some sealer should do it.

Thanks for all the help!

There was so much water in the headlight that it looked like a rainforest!
