Arrow Help needed with Headlights/Wiring!

I've had headache after headache with this car so far and really am just trying to get it going. Currently I'm experiencing some issues with my headlights that I have not been able to resolve and was searching for someone in the central Ohio area that might be able to meet up and take a look or fix my headlights, with compensation on my part of course. Was hoping to find someone on here that has experience specifically with an AP1.

Text me at 740-504-9043 or give me a call

Really at a loss currently and just trying to enjoy the dang car!!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Problem is, whomever owned the car before me hacked the headlight system all to bits. They had an aftermarket ebay kit on the car and my high beams didn't work from the time I bought it.

Currently I still need to check fuses, but I'm not suspecting anything positive in that (It's not my luck for it to be that simple.)

I repaired all the connections in the wiring harness and connectors. But now when I connect everything, my high beams are on constantly no matter where the high beam switch is at and they are about as bright as a candle, one low beam (HID) flickers, the other does nothing (Im assuming ballast on this one.)

Wiring is not my strong suit and not sure where to start testing things or even to begin trouble shooting. Money is tight and its hard to buy parts and hoping it fixes the problem.

What year car? The late cars have DRLs that use the high beams at reduced brightness, but your AP1 doesn't have that feature unless the previous owner tried to add it. Do you have the shop manual with the wiring diagrams? There are generational differences in some as I recall.

It's a very early 2000 model. And I was able to come across the service manual online after digging around for awhile. So I have more info than I had to begin with.

Update to the issues. Well I had a bad fuse, ballast and combination switch all together. Replaced the fuse and combo switch and had one functioning HID and both high beams.

Then I simplified everything and picked up a mint set of complete AP2 headlights for $100. (Cheaper than buying a used ballast for my current ones.)

Anyways just wanted to thank you guys for the assistance!! Have a good one.

Where did you get headlights for so cheap? I've been looking for a pair myself.
