Default AP1 Replacement Headlights

So my '00 headlights are looking like crap anymore from having to keep my car in the AZ sun while at work for the last decade. I have used the Meguiars kit a few times and it works well to fix the haze, but it's only temporary, over time they are developing small cracks as well, and I'm tired of taping off and buffing them every couple months. Anyone tried any of the alternatives that are cheaper than OEM $1500 replacements? I'm specifically speaking of the cheaper $300 headlights I see on eBay when I'm frustrated with the way mine look.

I know it is too late now, but there is a uv protector that you can put on that helps with the hazing. Don't know anyone with the eBay lights...some of them look cool though.

When I bought my car the previous owner had the headlights clear coated and buffed and they look great except for a small run on the driver's side and some peeling on the passenger side from crappy prepwork. Might try that as a last resort. I'm going to reclear mine in the spring because it's still cheaper than any used headlights.
