Default Invidia and Hardtop

Against a lot of advice, we installed the Invidia this weekend. We like the exhaust (the noise and the increased response), we think we can live with the "drone" and don't mind the odd looks we've been getting from others.

What's bothering me are the rattles coming from the area where the top is folded down - sounds like the car is going to fall apart. I haven't had a chance to get back there and poke around, but I think it's coming from the latches on the softtop. Just wondering if others with hardtops and exhausts have had experience with rattles, and if you've been able to locate/isolate them?

Also, if you have something other than the Invidia and no rattles, that would be good to know too as I might have to swap it out if I can't quell the rattling...

Thanks!

Hey Alan...

Make sure the latches are latched. They will rattle a lot less. Also check your "secret compartment" and make sure there isn't change or something rattling around. Finally, they may be something that is in the tray under the folded top. You will need to remove the HT to check that out.

It's most likely the latches. The Invidia caused the same problem. Lock it down and you should be set.

Thanks guys.

Well, the latches are latched and lightly secured with a little electrical tape that I put on to prevent rattles before installing the Invidia.

I'm going to have to insulate them a little more somehow, at the very least, and also check for other problem areas. I'm a little worried that there's not much I'm going to be able to do at the end of the day. As many of you already know, this thing sounds like a freakin' spaceship taking off now...

Hey Andy, at this point it's more like the Challenger.

Hope Paige found info re: the job search I passed along helpful. Remind her that she can call or email with any questions when she's putting everything together. And remind her to take time to relax!

yes, the hardtop seems to capture a lot of the noise from the exhaust, and the folded down soft top is the area where all the rattling is coming from. i'm going to take of the hardtop this weekend and try to isolate all the problem areas.

re: Kihachi - just let me know when...
