Moving to the area
Hello all. My name is Julian and I am going to be moving into the area. I am coming from Pittsburgh. I landed a job at the NASA Glenn Research Facility and I start in a few weeks. Unfortunately I dont know the area at all and im hoping some of you can lend some help.
Some quick Honda/S2000 background on me real quick to explain why im on s2ki
. I had an 01 BB ap1 a few years back while I was in the Air Force. I loved that car to death, but sadly I lost it where I was stationed. Snap oversteer along with me being an idiot haha going through a turn to quick. Totaled.
Ive been playing with Hondas for a few years now after the S2000. I had a few civics over the past couple years ranging from a nightmare crx build to a rare rt4wd wagon restoration. My biggest project to date is my F2K swap. Ive been working on it for almost 2 and a half years and it has had its up and downs. I have a build thread over on the Allegheny section. Check it out.

I have been on my own since I was 18 so I earn what I have. I dont have the parental support or cash flow as some car enthusiasts do (a lot of rich kids over here). I have a family now, and im starting a new chapter in my life. This new job will help start it off and thats why I came here. I am looking for a nice area, that is safe. A place where I can raise my son and be happy. I would prefer to stay east of Cleveland and thats where I have been looking for places. I have mainly been looking close to the Cuyahoga Falls area.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Below I added some eye candy, enjoy.

Old ap1- berk single 3in exhaust, ap2 rets, act pp, fidanza flywheel, innovative race mounts, mulder mod headlights, clear side markers

Wagon( had to sell before completed but I did A LOT of work on this )

Welcome! Not sure what your budget is but there are some apartments in sagamore hills. The community is amazing and perfect to raise a family. It is also only about 20 min from the Nasa facilities, that is if you are at the one by Cleveland Hopkins.

Congrats on the new job. Look forward to meeting you at a meet someday. As far as locations go:
Streetsboro and Macedonia areas aren't too bad either for you. The turnpike is there to go back to PGH and 480 is a straight shot to the airport.

I'm certainly not trying to tell you what to do, but Macedonia to the airport every day is a lot of time. There are nice places like fairview park, north Olmsted, westlake, and rocky river on the west side. You'll save yourself 20-30 minutes driving time every day if you live on the west side. That's as much as 2.5 hours a week less driving.
When you drive back to Pittsburg from any of those west side suburbs, it will take you no more than an additional 40-50 minutes round trip.
So if you go back to pittsburgh every week, West side saves saves you at least 1.5 hours total driving every week. If you go home less than weekly, it saves you even more.
Plus all the smart, good looking, S2K owners are on the west side
In any case, welcome to Cleveland, and hope to see you around

Consider Strongsville or Berea. Right next to the turnpike and close to Glenn
Welcome to Ohio! I grew up on the East side in Cleveland Heights, but can't say I personally would want to live their now. Solon is a nice community - my suggestions would be to look at the school ratings for communities on the East side, they are usually good indicators of a nice place to live. I would also suggest as others have that you look into the West side. Most of my family and friends now live on the West side and it is much nicer. I lived in Avon Lake on the west side for two years before I joined the Air Force and really liked it.
I was also in the Air Force for six years - an F-16 crew chief. Now I work for GE Aviation down in Cincinnati. What did you do in the AF and what will you be doing at NASA?
