Default New guy found a S2K

Hi everyone, my name is JB and I live in Dayton near Fairborn. I've been wrenching on Hondas and cars in general for quite some time. I do a lot of work by referral on mostly K series vehicles. I have a desk job by day.. I can't say I love it. I have been looking for a new fun car to drive and the S2K has always been on my list. I won't lie there are a few other brands on the list as well. I've been lurking around for far too long so it was time to step up to the mic. Looking for a GPW AP1/2 under 10 grand. Miles don't scare me as I have the tools to fix whatever may present itself. Something as close to NADA would be great as I will be financing a portion of the purchase. If for some reason you have a 3 series floating around I wouldn't mind looking that way either.

Edited for/ Purchased a s2k, no longer looking for one.

Good luck!

Under $10,000 is going to be very tough in any color. None on AutoTrader I could see. Craig's list seems the place to start. This time of year is a sellers market.

Yeah GPW for under $10k isn't happening unless it is a POS or salvage, then I doubt you find one close by. Heck they are getting hard to come by for $10k period, regardless of color!

I found an 00 NFR with around 140k for well under 10k, however it has some rust that I'm paying a nice chunk to have properly repaired.

That's going to be your biggest struggle if you don't want to travel very far.

I side with everyone else here, under 10k and it's going to be in really rough shape. I originally wanted the same as you but found all of the examples under 10k were just in horrible condition.

To give you an impression, I spent 13600 for a totally mint AP1 '00 with 50k on it.

If you spend a little bit extra, you can get so much more car.

yeah white is quite the hard color to come by. I've seen two in decent condition ranging from 10k in KY and 13ish up north. I can find suzuka blue all day for any price.. idk if they made more of them in that colorway or people just hate having them. Well have to see what happens.

Why not get a better condition car and forget about the color? At a $10k window, get whatever you can get. Down the road if gpw is what you want, get it wrapped.

whelp. loaded the trailer with a 00 ap1 in GPW. 93,500 on the clock. all panels are numbers matching, all oem, seats are in good shape. top is in great shape, already been replaced. best of all bought it for 9750. it's as mint as i could ask for in a 16 yr old car. I didn't get a lot of confidence from the posts here but i figured someone had one out there.

I'm glad we were wrong! Looks wonderful. Even a blind squirrel occasional finds an acorn! Where did you find her? I'd put the S2000 emblems back on the finders but that's probably just me.
