Welcome. Being a Lorain county guy, I'd normally be happy to help you. Unfortunately I no longer have a street car. I would echo, at your price point, mileage wouldn't be my concern. Condition and regular maintenance would be the things to look for.

I know you said you wanted to keep the price around $9k but for a little more it's easier to find a decent car in the shape you are looking for! I guess who ever you decide to buy the car from do a little snooping and play dumb, say you have plans like to autoX the car and possibly boost it and see what the persons reaction is if someone put a car back to stock and you ask the right questions they will slip up and tell you lol! Also VIN stickers check to see if all the body panels have them that's an easy way to tell if the car has been repainted or possibly in an accident. Like everyone else said mileage isn't to big of a concern but obviously it would be nice to find one with lower miles. At the price you are at though it's going to be hard not to sacrifice something.

There are a couple cars on craigslist - one in Dublin and one east of Cincy that are in your price range. I don't know how far you want to travel and I can't vouch for either car. Both state clean titles
