Default soft top fail - help?

so I knew immke had to take off the soft top to repair my rear quarter after my wreck, but i noticed recently it wasn't retracting as far as it should. i remembered a forum post about elastic straps... anyway long story short, here's my car's left hand side strap from the soft top (sorry bad cell phone pics)

and HERE we have the right hand side...

So what can I do about this? I know they won't help me and I honestly don't want them ever touching my car again... is this something I can fix myself and if so how?

thanks

Never ever ever go back to Immke. They screwed me over when I had my 99' Prelude. They tried to charge me double the cost for a clutch replacement.
(This was before Marysville opened)

Also know an old friend who invested about $10k on his CRX, took it to Immke for some type of minor problem he couldn't figure out. Anyway they didn't fix it right, they claimed it was fixed correctly and told him there was nothing they could do about it. The next night "someone" decided to break into his CRX in his driveway while he was at work and completley stripped the vehicle. Everything was gone, except the body panels and most of the engine (think they took his CAI). The dumbass' accidentally left one of the tools behind...and the cops traced it back to Immke mechanics. I hate that place with a passion!
