The SR315 Chronicles
The morning run in the sun this morning was a pot hole laden mess from Bean Holler Rd south to below Jewett Rd before the Mt.Air straightaway. That and the fact I got behind some dinosaur in one of "God's waiting rooms" (a white Buick sedan)
The southbound run although sunny was not very entertaining;someone needs to call the crackheads at ODOT and fix this road
The return leg going northbound saw the sun slip behind a cloud blanket never to return again . This seemed like a scene from "Groundhog Day";but as luck would have it although cooler it was much better.
No traffic, didn't stop for the light @ Powell road, and the only "meteorite impacts" I had to dodge was just south of Hyatts Rd. The S sounded good and felt good after a week of no driving.

I took a southern trip down 315 a few days ago,in the Civic, and it was absymal to say the least. Olde Man Winter has left the southbound lane in total disrepair and is not worthy of even my Civic.
So this morning I got up early and took 23 down to Worthington 270 area and ran the northbound run up 315 to Delaware.Although the road is crap;the northbound leg is entertaining.By staying to the right as close to the edge of the road the trip from The Rusty Bucket to SR750(Powell Rd) is acceptable and can be driven at a brisk pace.
North of Powell Rd. to about the Orange Curve requires multiple steering imputs just to miss the multitudes of potholes, not including the undulations in various changes in pavement types due to the halfa$$ed job of ODOT's patchwork.
North of Orange where the "corkscrew"/"Senna" S curve complex is not bad but just as you exit Senna there are huge holes in the road to the far right which upsets the balance and flow of the car after exiting the Senna esses.
Powering away from the Home Rd stop sign over the series of lil hills down the "Water Works " straight I felt the car tickle triple digits until I entered the canopy of trees that encircle 315 prior to Hyatts. There is the point of worst devasation to the road with potholes across the road and no way to miss them at any speed.
Shifting away from Hyatts with no more stops insight all the way to 315's end the road became more forgiving and hasn't seen much abuse from winter. The run to Bean Oller was a joy only having to lift once.
From Bean Oller Rd to Bunty Station is where I encountered my 1st bit of traffic ;which was ok I guess because soon after that a Kojack with a Kodack passed me going south bound in sort of a rush.
I wonder if he saw my vapor trail????????

Father's Day 2005 and I treated myself to an early morning banzai run down what was my second favorite road east the the mighty Miss. The southbound trip was marred by gigantic pot holes south of the Hyatts intersect. THis is becoming increasingly more dangerous for any speed above 25mph,in anything smaller than a Hummer
Further south just below the Powell Rd light is another "mess"
What used to be an entertaining drive from Delaware to Mt.Air has become a total joke .
SOMEONE WRITE THE LOCAL OFFICIALS AND GET THIS FIXED
I made the turn around at the "Rusty Bucket" and headed back north remembering the trouble spots.Traffic was non-exsistant and I even didn't have to stop for the only light on the route at Powell Rd.
SR315 was once a great way to unwind from a weeks worth of work and monotony. It is a shame that oversized, overweighted trucks have been allowed to destroy this great road.I love SR793 down in Lancaster but it takes a good hour to get to it
