so a friend can get me the brand new F20c shortblock for $2135.98 (bill was $2250 +tax)

then thinking toda or spoon oil pan

any thoughts on spoon or BC valves/springs/retainers?
or toda cams and springs with the bc or spoon valves?

Save your money. All that work and money for 15 horspower. Leave it stock and just put a supercharger on it. Trying to add power to this motor while leaving it NA is a wast of time and money. Unless you do 2.5 build. That was one of my reasons for getting rid of my S.

yea.....either way i need valves....i wanna replace the guides 2 b safe so springs n retainers might as well b dun too the fact that i have an ap1 means i have the better cams off the bat if i stay stock

I had similar issues with my motor from tracking the car... I'm not sure about autox (stock class) legality, but I have personally upgraded to a baffled oil pan. Might be a worthwhile consideration for your re-build. I had Asura (forum sponsor) make one for me and the price was way less than the "JDM" baffled pans out there.

I also second the comment to look into purchasing a used motor. I found a good used motor relatively local to me and it saved me a lot of time and money going that route.

will do. stoked! pending funds i might build the head up a lil and get a header and a spoon oil pan so i dont have oil starvation and kaboom issues again
