ok so last fall i blew up my F20c during autocross.....the block, lower block, crank, oilpan, #4 piston and rod are all junk, an new assembled shortblock from honda is about $2200 the block and lower block alone are like $1300 so it kinda makes sence to get the assembled one and have extra parts to resell even if im going to buy diff pistons and such right? or just buy the block and start there

thanks,
Brandon

One solution is to PM kial007;he's done an upgrade rebuild and probably could recall pricing from his project.

A second solution would be to contact Hardtopguy and see if he has a lead on a seasoned engine

my #4 rod broke, the cap was in like 4 pieces, the cap bolts were both broke, it beat the hell out of the cyl, poped a hole in the block behind the starter, trashed the oil pan and crank lol it sucked but i was mid race when it happened so yea......

most of the used engines are still more than buying a brand new shortblock so thats why i was considering doing that and buying new valves n springs for my current head

I could give you a run down of the pricing on what I did if you want. I also have my old engine sitting on a stand in my garage.

holly crap, that is some carnage!! Did you figure out what exactly caused that (your fault, issue with the engine, ect.)?
