Well, I know you guys are not used to reading a review on the boards from someone who is actually going to buy the car ....so here it goes

Jen (my rich wife) is wanting to replace the Murano. Here is what we are looking at.
First up: The 2006 Accord V6 Sedan- 6 Speed
HFP Suspension, Upgraded Wheels, Spoiler, Nav,fog lights

The Accord's engine was a beast. I chirped the tires all the way up the on ramp to 33. The exterior is kind of bland, but the wheels, springs and spoiler helped a little with the testosterone factor. The car is heavy but handles ok. The interior is good. I thought the leather was saggy and a little cheap, but the car was a demo and had 6,000 miles on it. The NAV was very nice and the plastics were typical Honda. Seats were very comfortable with great lumbar support. Trunk was huge. Nav was great.

Next: The 2006 Acura TSX- Manual
Nav and Rear wing spoiler, Fog lights

After driving the Accord, the first thing you notice in the TSX is the agressive look of the exterior. Much better looking car than the Accord. The 2nd thing is the interior. Leather is top notch and the over all fit and finish is definately and upgrade. The plastics and electronics were better than the Accord. The seats were very comfortable, just like the Accord. The engine was peppy but not as strong as the Accord. The car handle much better than the Accord in the twisties. I could notice less body roll in the TSX. Car felt lighter. Nav was same (I think) Blue Tooth and voice commands were nice. Oh, I would prefer a Manual over the Auto.

Exterior: Accord= B- TSX = A
Interior: Accord= B- TSX= A+
Engine: Accord= A+ TSX= B
Handling: Accord= B- TSX=B+
Ergonomics: Accord=B TSX=B+

I think if Honda would allow more HFP type gear to be made for the Accord Sedan, they would sell more. Just not sporty enough for me in the looks department. The engine is hard to walk away from. I would have a hard time not choosing the Accord, especially since the cars are priced similar. It appears after the test drives, Jen was leaning toward the nicer looking/feeling TSX. I will be happy with either car. I think with the liking of the V6 and the liking of the Acura upgrades....the TL would be the perfect car for us. Might have to drive it next.

 

To be fair, I would need to see a black interior for the Accord. I am comparing Tan to black. Maybe the tan just appeared cheap . I know the black hides more cracks and such.

I have friends and family who have both. Personally, i like the interior of the accord (in black), but i don't like the exterior. I like the looks of the TSX much better, but i like the V6 of the accord better.
Maybe find a used '04-'06 TL.......i love my '99.

 

I have a TL in my driveway right now.

TSX all the way... but if TL is one of the option, definitely TL then.
