I have a TL in my driveway right now.
I drove it It felt effin heavy as hell and the 5sp auto sport-shift; like the TSX needs refinement.

The response time is s l o w; I think the gear changes should take milliseconds.

The car is very $$$ and the cabin seems huge compared to the TSX but I loved the carbon fiber trim pieces and prefer those to the pl-wood in the Acura brochere that Jen showed me.

In conclusion the Acura TL reminded me of my Dad's Toyota Avalon (Japanese Buick) ......nice and roomy and quiet and spacious........kinda like God's waiting room

My wife and I bought an '04 TSX new a couple of years ago ... it had the same 4cyl engine as the accord that year, but it was tuned up for an additional 20+ hp which made a huge diff in the test drives of the 2 cars (she didn't look at the 6cyl). The TSX definitely looked much better on top of just feeling better.

She might have gone for a TL if one was available with a manual trans, but in Aug of the model year, the dealership could not come up with one for her to consider.

I would certainly suggest the TSX over the Accord after our own experience comparing the two, but my wife has occasionally wished she'd taken a little more time thinking about the TL.

We really like the TSX, but even she will admit that my '06 LBP S2K is in a totally seperate league.

Thanks guys. After last night, the TL has joined game. Also, she got to see Rich's black interior on his Accord which she liked very much. I still think the smart choice is the Accord 6spd, but this is her car and her choice to make. The Acura's are very nice. After drving the TL the TSX has dropped off my radar. Jen has a lot to think about.

Sorry, Steve. The sport shift on a convential auto tranny will never shift in milliseconds. You need something like Audi's Direct Shift Gearbox for that level of performance (with an affordable price tag).

Are the TL and Accord the same price class however?

I would imagine that's gotta factor in the analysis if you've dropped out the TSX out of the running.

I've never driven a TL A-spec, but they are pretty hard to find. I've never even seen a TSX A-spec yet. I'm sure that is a very pricey option on either.

A-spec is badass. Runs you close to 40k if not more.
