Default Wheel Still Shaking :(

SO..

as some people know.. my civic shakes..
got the wheels balanced the other day, took it on the highway... nope.. not gone.. from 55 and higher, it's pretty bad... at 85.. my hands feel like they will go numb if i grip the steering wheel and longer..


any suggestions?

Ball Joints, I would check'em.

Put the car on a jack and see if the wheel jiggles, you may have some play in the front suspension.

you mean just shake the wheel back and forth?

is this expensive to fix?

yes, you will feel the play if its there. I would check it ASAP.

Its a civic nothing is that expensive ! It should not be that bad.

did you ever do what I told you? most likely not...instead you'll bitch about it for another year like your V1

I know you got your wheel balanced but did they run it on a machine than can measure runout?

i was going to do it there but i got lazy and my friend took my car up 2 weeks ago. (i was driving the S)

i have no idea what they used to balance it, but i'll find out more today

shake the wheels and see whether there is any play. could possibly be ball joint issue. How about an alignment?

Where is Dave? He may give you more insight on this.

OEM Honda wheels or aftermarket?..........If aftermarket ;are the wheels hubcentric or require the inserts in the register bore of the wheels?

If they forgot to install the hubcentric rings no amount of balance weight will ever get the "shimmy" out.

If you have oem Honda wheels on and have bad vibs @ speed you have expensive issues to deal with
