Default WHEW! Close Call

About a mile down the road from our house there is severe damage from the storms last night. Apparently some homes were taken out completely. Way too close for comfort.

When I saw the paper this morning with the maps of heaviest damage, I immediately called Ed (from the Rt. 26 drive). He lives on one of the streets hardest hit in Twinsburg. His house is OK, but just 6 houses down one was demolished! Talk about a close call.....

Wow, i'm glad that all of you guys are okay. I'm also glad that Ed is okay. The storms were pretty bad last night even down here in Cincinnati, and east of us they had a few tornado's touch down although i'm not sure if they caused any damage since they touched down in rural farmland.

June,

Thanks. Way to close for comfort. The good news is...there are some constants in the universe that keep people grounded. One of them is that the Bengals suck

And, unfortunately, the BROWNIES aren't too far from the Bengals.

John,

I'm afraid you might be right. Then again, the Bengals set the standard for futility. I don't think anyone can match them.

Ok, while we are on this topic, maybe some of you Cleveland folks can answer this question. We know what a Bengal, or a Raider, or a Redskin, or a Buccaneer is, but what in the hell is a Brownie? I've always wondered about that........

Do they mean a Brownie in terms of a brown paper bag used at the grocery store, brown as in a lump of dog doo doo, or brown as in the plain UPS uniform color brown?

Brownie is just an affectionate term we use. The Browns were named after legendary coach Paul Brown (original owner of the Bengals).

When I was younger, I thought the Browns were named after Jim Brown (IMHO the greatest running back in the history of the NFL).
