Default just moved here

Hey guys, I just moved to Norman from the DFW area for college. Im getting low on gas, but havent looked around too far but is there only 91 octane gas around here? Any areas that have the 93? I saw in the 100% gas thread that there may be somewhere around that sells 101? that could be fun when im feeling rich

anyways, any info will be appreciated, i would rather stay away from dropping my octane levels for my car

Welcome!

I'm not aware of any stations in Oklahoma that carry anyshing higher than 91 octane. However, you might be able to find some race gas at some of the local tracks or performance supply stores.

I dont need to be buying race gas lol but that saddens me that 91 is as high is it goes here.

Anyone have any problems/knocking with the 91? im expecting it to not really be an issue,
I noticed the 100% gas thing, at first i thought it was just a BS Marketing ploy but it seems to be legit after searching around here a little bit. Im a little excited about that, maybe it will even out my saddness lol

I havnt had any issues with 91 octane gas. There is a station on 63rd and western on the north side of okc that has 93 and 101. It's extremely expensive. Like $4 and $7 a gallon

Shell. It's so damn expensive tho. I've put 93 in my car and it is nice but I can't afford it all the time. Maybe when mine isn't a DD anymore. Time to go work on the 240sx......

Well, if you're used to running DFW 93 octane stuff (which is that oxygenated shit), you'll love our non-ethanol 91 octane.

I frequently travel to dfw and I HATE buying gas there. Even though it says "93" on it, it sure as hell doesn't perform like our 93 up here.

As far as Norman goes, the Conoco's at Robinson & Porter and Robinson & East 12th st have the cheapest non-ethanol 91 octane in town that I can find. The next best is the Phillips 66 and the Shell stations on about Porter & Frank St (kind of across and south from the hospital). And the Shell on hwy 77 across from Westheimer airport is ethanol free and pretty good.

Welcome to the board & Norman! I'll keep an eye out for you.

Sweet thats real helpful actually! I filled up with some non-ethanol 91 at a shell off of some street called Okmulgee street? It was like 2.89 for 91, cost $30 to fill up, I always had filled up with Shell, and have had problems with QT gas which was always the cheapest, which is ironic bc they have their "Guaranteed Gasoline" but whenever i run it my car hesitates like its misfiring real bad, especially when its humid outside, so I stick with shell and everythings fine.

Ill check out the Conoco as thats real close to me. You'll probably see me around alot, Im in a Spa with black wheels w/ yellow pinstripe around them and a painted MG Style hood so im real easy to spot

I know that the sound of putting 93 octane or 101 in your car sound like its gonna make it run better, but your car is designed to run on a 91 octane fuel. without an aem standalone or a piggyback with the option to advance your timing having a higher octane rating will pick up nothing for you performance wise, it will just burn a hole in your pocket book.. also the fuel in oklahoma is a better quality and you wont be dissapointed
