Default New Audio System Install

Hey folks. I need a bit of advise here. I've been shopping around locally here (and a bit online) for a new audio system install. Currently I have stock hu and speakers. I just want to upgrade the sound so I get a cleaner and crisp sound. I have no plans for shows or sharing my boom boom and thump thump with the car next to me at the stop light.

I went to a few places in Owasso/Tulsa and got the follow quotes.

Owasso Best Buy approx $640
Kenwood HU, JBL Speakers, Tweeters, install

Car Toys (I still think they are snobs) approx $850
Kenwood HU, Focal Speakers and Tweeters, install

Boomers approx $1100
Kenwood HU, Treo speakers, Treo Amp, wire, install

Ultimate Electronic
After standing around for 15 minutes and nobody helped me I left.

I think at this point I'm going to go with the Kenwood KDC-X692 HU, But the other stuff I don't know anything about. I liked the Boomers package, but it seemed waaaay high priced when I compared prices to stuff online.

I'm looking for everyone's thoughts here. Is there an installer I missed or are those fair prices? Anyone sound better than the other? I was trying to keep my budget to about 800 and lower.

I would recommend any HU that you like with a 250 watts amp and some polk audio component speakers (for full range) or kicker component speakers (for high range)... circuit city is closing down...you should be able to find them around 30% off of the original price (which i think $199)

i hope this info helps you out.

If you don't mind the drive. There is a place in Okc that did mine and I paid $1100 for HU, Door Speakers, Tweeters, Sub, Custom Box, Amp, wires & install. It sounds awesome. They do really good work. Let me know if your interested.

Sorry to read this. If you want, I can probabry just give you Ryan's number. That way you won't have to deal with UE sales people.
