Default Safe in Oklahoma?

Hey everybody,
I'm getting tired of my 97 accord and have my eye on an S2000. I've been reading about seat thefts and am wondering if these are a problem in OK, I'm in Norman actually.
An S would be a good step or two above my accord and I would hate to see something happen to it; I would definitely get an alarm.
Anyway, have any of you had, or heard of, people having issues in the Oklahoma area?

There have been at least two instances of which I'm aware. Hopefully the two victims will chime in here. Apparently hard tops don't offer much added security either because one of those has been stolen here recently and locally, too.

Two words:

1. GARAGE

2. BEATER

I'd be paranoid without both... Just keep in mind where you're taking it...

When did a Hardtop get stolen??

Two thefts have occurred in edmond. One guy left his car outside one night and they were gone. He over in a really nice housing edition.

I've parked my S outside a bunch of times without the Hardtop over night and I've never had a problem in edmond

Mine were stolen in stillwater at an apartment complex.

Get some seat locks and you'll be fine

It’s pretty hit or miss in Norman, but it depends on where you live. I live in north central Norman and have never had a problem. But my car is always in my garage and I have a beater. Now if you live around campus and your S is going to live outside, then I’d stay away from it. I know about 7 people that have had their civics/integras/motorcycles stolen down by the apartments just south of campus. And the guy on this board with a yellow s2k with black wheels was vandalized at some apartments down there too.

But Norman I would say is no worse than anywhere else. It’s got it’s bad and good parts.
