Throttle Cable?

I noticed that it was more responsive after I did it. There's just a little less of a dead zone when you push the throttle. Definitely worth the few minutes to do it.
I remove the excess slack from the throttle cables on all of my vehicles when they have a cable(truck is fbw). The reality here is that it will not be more responsive, think about it, you aren't changing any of the attributes of the fuel/air delivery system, you are only changing when the throttle plate opens in relation to the throttle. So in some instances there might be a perception of more "responsiveness" but in reality it is the same, you just have less dead space in the throttle to travel from a zero throttle postiion. More "reactive" is probably a better description.
In the cases where there is so much slack that the throttle plate isn't opening all of the way then it will provide some overall performance. I checked our S before the adjustment and it was opening all of the way.

I guess it's how you define responsive. Before the adjustment, there was a dead zone on my throttle so when I pushed it down there was basically no response in the throttle until I got past that dead zone. Removing that dead zone made it more responsive on the initial throttle application. I agree that it did nothing throughout the rest of the throttle range, but it did make it more responsive to me.
My lead foot and long legs couldn't tell that the 1/4" difference in the pedal travel was even changed.
It was a noticable difference on my bike though, I had nearly 1/4 turn of the throttle before the plate opened, so it made it easier to ride as I didn't have to grab a second handful of throttle.
I guess I just wanted everyone to understand that the cable adjustment doesn't buy you any more speed or power, it just removes the slack travel from the throttle pedal, only affecting those times when you are coming from zero throttle.
