Default Tires

Hey I am due for some new tires and I really would like to put some nt05 on the rear I have 245/40/r17 on the rear now and they only make the nittos in 255/40/17 do you guys think that will fit? I dunno what kind of wheels they are been told rota 11s? How do I measure to know if the tires will fit?

Also what would be a good tire for the front I have 215/45/zr17 on the front should I go with a little fatter tire up there as well? If so what size?

the 255's should fit just fine. Just look at your wheels right now, if the tire is not bulging out, then they should be wide enough for 255's.

You can go with a 225 in the front if you want. I personally went with a 215/255 setup to make the back end a bit less tail happy.

Yeah, buy the tires Troy has! He is a great guy and you can help support a fellow OK s2ki member. RE01s are great tires.

They're super sticky, but they don't last very long. They have a treadwear rating of like 140 or 180. I would not recommend them for daily driving. Regardless, here's a link to Troy's FS thread. Not sure if they'll fit though. I'd recommend measuring the rim width and then using this page on tirerack.com to determine what size tire would be optimal.

What you really need to know is your rim width and offset.

If you know those two things, that will tell most of the story.

If you're lowered and how far will cover the rest.

I need some help also..I don't want to waste good space and make a ''special'' thread for my question. As you can tell I'm no good with specs,I don't want rubbing and/or fitment issues. What tires will fit these wheel specs 17x8 +35 offset and 17x9 +38 offset? (I know the exact brand I want to run Falken Azenis RT-615) Thanks for any useful help/info.

Front 215/45R17

Rear 245/40R17

You'll need to tuck/trim/roll with those offsets, btw.

Wickedwiggles, if you can get a good detailed photo of all the little numbers and symbols on the back of the spokes of your wheels, that would help.

Aside from that, think about your sizing questions like this...if it looks like you will have 1/2cm room for a tire from the outside of the current tire to the rear quarter panel then you should be fine. If you're already a bit too close for comfort as it is, you may need to modify the wheel well to fit the 255, or I'm afraid you might need to find a different wheel or tire.

Without knowing the offset of the wheel makes it hard, but let us know how the wheelgap looks and maybe we can help that way.

215/245 is gonna be stretching the tires quite a bit tho, isn't it? I run a 255 on a 9" wide rear and it's stretched. ap1_s2k12, is your car lowered?
