Honda is recalling about 18,000 vehicles including the Acura RSX sedan and the Honda S2000 sports car sold in the U.S. because of a brake problem.

The automaker said a manufacturing error in the power brake system components may cause it to decrease the assistance it provides in braking, a factor that increases the risk of a crash.

However, no crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue, which was discovered through an analysis of warranty claims.

The recall includes 5,239 Honda S2000 vehicles from the 2006-2007 model years and 13,113 Acura RSX vehicles from the 2006 model year. Honda said it will inspect and, if needed, replace the brake booster in these vehicles.

Anyone get their recall notice yet? Should of been notified by mid july. I guess I don't need the recall after checking recall.honda.com my VIN didnt show any recalls. =/

 

i have not received any notice from honda. i also checked honda online and called the dealership however they stated no recalls show under my VIN. im going to give it a few weeks and try again.

 

I got mine about 3 weeks ago. Just don't have time to take it in to get it checked out.

 

It seems to be VIN-specific. I got the notice for my '06 fire-car and it showed up when the VIN was pulled up at the dealer, but my Rio '06 never got a notice in the mail and nothing pulls up under the VIN.

 

It is VIN specific. I had mine done a couple weeks ago.

They basically replace the seals. Otherwise mine was in excellent condition.
