Default Alarm / Remote Start installation?

So I have looked around in the area and don't really trust any of the local stereo shops to rip apart my car to install an alarm & remote start. Any local guys know how to do this themselves? I am thinking of giving it a go, but it would be real nice to have someone there who has done it before... I think I have decided on the Viper 5904 which I can get on amazon for $300 (I also like that new Compustar, but can't find it for sale anywhere online), then I know I will need a immobilizer bypass as well (I am thinking pkall via amazon for about $30). Thoughts, contacts, suggestions, or help appreciated!

There is contact information from a trusted installer in the FAQ under the deals and discounts thread
