Aloha from a newbie!
Hey folks,
It's great to see some fellow Oregonian s2k owners on a thread- Just joined before I bought my wife an '06 (Suzuka Blue) a few weeks ago. I guess I'll see ya' around, eh?
Thanks for the support here, this forum is great!
Cheers!

Sweet! Quick question: I've been sifting through threads on aftermarket alarms- do either of you have one? Any recommendations or passing thoughts? Just thought I'd ask while doing some homework.
Ok, question #2: This will be a daily driver, so any ideas on tires for the winter/rain season? I have Firehawks on there now fyi.
Thanks again and see you soonish!
Great to have another '06 Suzuka rolling around!
Mine used to be a DD, and I have had Dunlop Direzza DZ101's and am currently running Goodyear Eagle GT1's. I love both sets of tires for our wet winter.
With the TCS on the '06 I have never had and slipping/breaking/steering issues with the performance tires in winter. I generally don't drive the S in the snow, but Aaron (Sabre) lives in Bend and runs studless snow tires with no issues.
As far as alarms go, I have a CompuStar that was installed locally in Wilsonville by Kingpin Car Audio. It has a mile range on a paging key fob and have had no issues with it, except that it killed my battery when I didn't drive for about 4 weeks. If yours is truly a DD, you won't have the same issues that I had. Now that I drive it a minimum of once a week I have had no battery issues.
Looking forward to seeing you on future drives and meets!

Rainy tires can be any good all-season with decent water channels.
I personally do NOT recommend the Star Specs in water. Hitting standing water on them was really sketchy in my experience.
I ran Toyo T1Rs for great summer performance and they did well in the rain/wet and were merely OK in cooler weather.
The Hankooks I have now do quite well in the rain but arent the greatest performance tire nor are they amazing in the cold.
Just my .02
