Default Chromed wheels

I am thinking of having my AP2 v2 wheels either chrome plated or powder coated silver. Any thoughts on which might be better? Anyone got any pics of either their wheels chromed or silver powder coated?

i suggest polished over chrome. it should be a cheaper process and also will save on the additional weight of chrome.

Chrome does look good there were a couple cars at home coming rockin chrome stock wheels... chrome does add more weight and on wheels that unsprung weight.
But to each his own if you like it go for it

Actually, polished is the look I think I want. I was noticing how I like the polished front surfaces on the AP2 V2 wheels. Good idea

My AP2v1s have some serious curb rash and I thought about having them cleaned up and chromed, but this polished idea interests me. Anyone have any picts of polished ap2v1?

these are polished ap2v1

you can see in this picture that the polish could benefit from some buffing, the downside of polished wheels it will require a bit more upkeep then the chrome since it wont have that extra plating.

they look real nice though. i think the finish on polish wheels look nicer, it gives off the shiney show room quality appareance, without the chrome les schwab wheel look

i did a quick research on the weight addition of chroming a 17in wheel. it looked like it ranged from .25 pound to .75 pound per wheel depending on variations of plating, 3 layer, 5 layer etc. which was actually a lot less weight then i initially thought. i was thinking more along 2 pounds. the prices ranged from $125-$200 on average per wheel.

with a little time and dedication you could always even polish the wheels yourself. i polished my complete motorcycle frame over a weekend including pulling the wheels and dropping the motor.

sorry thats all i could find from the quick search
